NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WAND) – A man is accused of printing out fake money and trying to sell it on Facebook.

Deputies say 28-year-old Levy Newberry printed $5, $10 and $20 bills at a library in Pasco County using resume paper purchased at Walmart and a design he found on Pinterest. WFLA reports he then tried to take that money to his landlord.

Investigators say he told the woman he did it for “*expletive* and giggles” when she pointed out he was doing something illegal.

Deputies say he ran from the scene with the bills when she threatened to call police, then tried to throw them in a sewer drain.

A sworn statement said Newberry told deputies a buyer on Facebook offered to pay $250 for $500 in counterfeit bills.

Newberry was on felony probation for dealing in stolen property when deputies arrested him. He is behind bars at the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center.
