500 plus students removed from class for missing immunizations

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - More than 500 students were sent home from Springfield Public Schools after missing the deadline to submit required physicals and immunizations.

528 students were taken out of class Tuesday. That is an increase from the 477 sent home last school year.

District 186 Superintendent Jennifer Gill said she is proud of the schools for getting people out and that it is the families' responsibilities to get these things taken care of.
