Group works to find photos of every U.S. service member killed in Vietnam

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A group called Faces Never Forgotten is working to find a picture of every U.S. service member killed in Vietnam.

Records show 50 Sangamon County residents were killed in Vietnam. The group was able to find photos of 49 of them.

The only picture missing was of Army Staff Sgt. Charlie Lee Logan.

Logan's photo was found with the help of the Otis B. Duncan American Legion Post 809 and The State Journal-Register who were able to contact the staff sergeant's brother and sister-in-law in Springfield.

Logan's picture was sent to Faces Never Forgotten on Thursday.

The group has collected pictures of more than 58,000 other Americans killed in the war. The photos will be included in a new educational center at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
