'Kill all Blacks' written inside St. Mary's Hospital bathroom
DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Police are investigating a hate crime after the words "Kill all Blacks" were found scrawled inside a bathroom at St. Mary's Hospital. It's
The words were found written in black marker inside the stall of a women's bathroom near the same day surgery department.
Police said this is criminal damage to property and a hate crime due to the message of the vandalism.
The crime happened sometime between Saturday and Monday.
Anyone with information should call Decatur police.
HSHS St. Mary's sent the following statement:
"At HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital, we completely denounce any act of racism and were disgusted when we discovered this vandalism. We immediately filed a police report and are working with the Decatur Police Department to solve this criminal act and hate crime."
