URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - Employees at the University of Illinois were threatened ahead of former President Barack Obama's visit to campus last Friday.

University police confirm to WAND that employees received calls from someone Friday afternoon referencing Obama's visit and making derogatory comments and threats.

Police released the following statement:

"These calls were fully investigated and, at this point, we do not believe that they pose any kind of threat to the campus community or the former president."
