(WAND) – America has voted for Taco Bell as its favorite “Mexican restaurant”, according to a poll.

A survey from The Harris Poll says people placed the fast-food giant over Chipotle and Moe’s Southwest Grill for the top spot. Taco Bell is part of the Yum! Brands company, which also owns KFC and Pizza Hut.

Survey organizers say the Harris Poll EquiTrend Study, which asked consumers what they think about the company’s health through questions, looked at familiarity, quality and future consideration. The final result shows in a single-number result.

Moe’s was Brand of the Year in 2016 and 2017 Harris Poll data. Survey Director Amir Kanpurwala says Taco Bell was able to pass it through strong marketing, such as the sale of creations like the Crispy Chicken Pizza, Naked Egg Taco and Nacho Fries.

“Taco Bell’s marketing is ubiquitous, so it wasn’t surprising to me that they came out on top this year,” Kanpurwala said. “It’s not so much that Moe’s or Chipotle are falling off the map. Taco Bell has just been a stronger brand as of late, as demonstrated by the strong familiarity and consideration marks.”

The EquiTrend Study asked 77,031 consumers across America about the brands in an online study, which ran from Jan. 3 to Feb. 15 earlier in 2018. Each person asked as at least 15 years old.
