School board votes to fire teacher accused of sexual assault


DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) – A Danville teacher is now out of a job after she was accused of having a sexual relationship with a male student.

Chelsea Robinson, 28, was a special-education teacher at Danville High School. She was arrested on three counts of criminal sexual assault by a person in a position of trust.

On Wednesday, the school board voted to terminate Robinson.

According to prosecutors, Robinson had a sexual relationship with a male student in June. Robinson has been with the district since 2013.

She has plead not guilty to the charges. If found guilty she faces up to 15 years in prison.
