Police: Driver high on drugs runs into school bus


CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - No students were injured when a driver who police said was on drugs crashed into a school bus Tuesday morning in Christian County.

The bus was stopped with warning lights activated and the stop arm out on Christian County Highway One at 1022 North Rd. while picking up a student.

A pickup truck ran into the back of the bus.

The bus sustained minor damage, but there was major damage to the truck.

No one was injured.

The driver of the truck, 18-year-old Carter Flowers of Nokomis was ticketed for driving under the influence of drugs and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

A lit marijuana cigarette was found on the dashboard of the truck.
