DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – A man admitted to his role in people firing shots at each other over the weekend, police say.

A sworn statement from police says officers came to the area near the intersection of 22nd Street and Mound Road at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday and after people in two cars both fired guns. Police then pulled over one of those cars, described as a tan Chevrolet Suburban, which they say was driven by Roszelle Buckner, 41.

Officers say Buckner said something close to “if you are asking me about the shooting, it was me and I am guilty”, then showed police a handgun in the center console. The statement says Buckner was driving with a revoked license.

Police say there were five Federal brand .38 special shell casings in the car along with the gun.

Buckner is facing charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated discharge of a firearm. His bond is set at $50,000 in Macon County.
