Decatur Public Schools sets 5-year plan

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Decatur Public Schools have settled on four areas to focus on for a five-year plan.

The school board said it decided to use the district's graduation rate, growth rate, third-grade reading level, and market share are the four focus areas.

Superintendent Paul Fregeau said discipline, attendance, staff residency, and vacancies will also be monitored, but will not be part of the main measurements.

The district said this is all part of a five-year plan for becoming a "destination district."
