Man facing federal charges for Cash Store robberies


TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - An Alorton man is facing charges of robbing Cash Stores, including one in Taylorville.

The Taylorville robbery happened on Sept. 19.

32-year-old Algernon Perkins was charged in federal court with interference with commerce by robbery.

The charge carries a maximum term of 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.

There is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the U.S. Marshals Service, Southern Illinois police agencies, and the Taylorville Police Department.
