Library annex demolition to mean parking changes

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – The demolition of a building next to the Decatur Public Library will mean changes in parking.

City Librarian Rick Meyer says fencing will go around the Decatur Public Library Annex – an empty building on the library lot – on Oct. 16. At that time, parking will be restricted to the easternmost areas of the lot, with the exception of certain handicapped spaces.

People can also park along Main Street or use the Main Street Parking Garage. Everyone looking to enter the library parking lot will be required to use the Prairie Street entrance.

The project timeline is expected to take as long as two months.

Anyone with questions about the project is asked to call (217)424-2900.
