CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - The University of Illinois has decided not to let Mother Nature rain on its parade.
The News-Gazette reports that the school has notified people with a mass mail that Saturday evening's homecoming parade in Champaign has been canceled due to a forecast of cold, wet and just plain miserable weather.
The school also decided to move indoors a carnival that was scheduled for the Quad and outdoor events could resume if the weather clears up.

This would have been the first year the University did not have a Chief impersonator in the parade in 8 years, following controversy from last year.
