Local church hosts Huntington's Disease fundraiser

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Saturday, the New Day Church in Decatur hosted a family chicken dinner to help raise funds for Huntington's Disease research.

The church served a Jacobs family chicken dinner which included include fried potato chips, baked beans, applesauce and homemade ice cream.

Bruce Jacobs, the pastor for New Day Church's wife was diagnosed with Huntington's disease. Now, Jacobs wants to contribute to research to help those suffering from the disease.

Huntington's Disease is a progressive neurological disease which is similar to having Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, and ALS.
