Woman charged with having marijuana, mushrooms in hotel room


CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) - A Charleston woman is facing drug charges after being arrested Saturday.

24-year-old Martina Neese is charged with possession of a controlled substance and manufacture/delivery of cannabis over 30 grams.

The Charleston Police Department and the East Central Illinois Drug Task Force responded to the Days Inn hotel after getting complaints about an odor.

Hotel management opened the door to a room and found drugs. No one was in the room at the time.

A search warrant was obtained, and about 500 grams of marijuana and 8 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms were found.

There was also $3,000 in the room, packaging, and paraphernalia.

A 2004 Dodge Neese was driving was seized.
