3-year-old killed in fire identified


RIVERTON, Ill. (WAND) - A 3-year-old who died after an overnight fire in Riverton has been identified.

Young Johnathon McDonough was pronounced dead at the home around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

His body was found inside the home after the fire had been knocked down.

His preliminary cause of death was ruled carbon monoxide poisoning due to the fire.

Firefighters were called to the mobile home in Lucky Horse Park on North 3rd St.  around 1 a.m. Officials also told WAND-TV that a man was in critical condition.

It is not clear at this time what the cause of the fire is.
