GALESBURG, Ill. (WAND) – Deputies arrested three men after finding marijuana packed into suitcases.

Deputies watched a drug delivery happen at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, WEEK reports, when investigators say Steven Broberg left an Amtrak train in Galesburg and met up with Donnie Smith and James Perkins. Those two men had a U-Haul truck pulling a car with them. Broberg is accused of placing two large suitcases in the car’s trunk before the three men took off in the U-Haul.

Deputies stopped the truck in the 2000 block of Galesburg’s E. Main St., where K-9 officer GLOCK alerted to a suspicious scent. Law enforcement say they then seized 42 pounds of marijuana.

The station reports the men are all facing cannabis trafficking (over 5,000 grams) and cannabis possession with intent to deliver (over 5,000 grams) charges.
