HARRISTOWN, Ill. (WAND) – Bridges are open again after road work in the Harristown area.

The Illinois Department of Transportation says U.S. 36 over U.S. 51 is open after the completion of bridge deck replacement work. The road was expected to reopen on Nov. 16.

During the project, drivers were asked to follow a detour to avoid construction.

IDOT is still asking people to use caution in the area.

“Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment,” IDOT said in a press release.

Drivers can find updates on road conditions by looking at the IDOT traveler information map.
