Man shot at Springfield intersection


SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - One person was shot at a Springfield intersection Friday morning.

Police were called to the intersection of 5th St. and Stanford Ave. just after 8 a.m.

Officers told WAND a vehicle pulled up next to another vehicle, and someone inside opened fire.

Three shots were fired. The victim, a man in his 20s, was hit in the leg when one of the bullets went through the car door and struck him.

Police said they are looking for a man and a woman, but are not releasing any other descriptions at this time.

They did say it was a targeted attack, and the suspects and victim knew each other.
