Ribbon cutting to be held at new Boys & Girls Club Teen Center


DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A ribbon cutting is going to be held Tuesday morning to celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Boys & Girls Club Teen Center.

The ribbon cutting will be held at 11:30 at 859 N. Jasper St. in Decatur.

Tours of the new facility will be given after the ribbon cutting.

The Boys & Girls Club was founded in 1972. It offers programs for youth ages 7 to 17.

The Teen Center will be geared to those 13 and older.

The goal is to help attract teenagers back to the Boys & Girls Club.

The center will feature pool tables, televisions, computers and a loft area for teens to relax and enjoy.
The new facility was financed from Macon County Sheriff Howard Buffett's private foundation.
