ILLINOIS (WAND) – To help support tornado victims, a restaurant chain announced plans to donate money.

Texas Roadhouse says 10 percent of all money from to-go orders, gift card sales and food sales taken during the fundraiser will go to Missions for Taylorville. The group is organized by volunteers and works to help homeowners with home repairs.

“Fundraiser donations will be used for disaster recovery efforts to help rebuild and repair Taylorville homes damaged by Saturday’s tornadoes,” a press release said.

An EF-3 tornado tore through Taylorville during an outbreak on Dec. 1, leaving behind heavy property damage. The National Weather Service says 27 tornadoes touched down in Illinois during the outbreak, which is the third-largest in state history

The fundraiser is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 13 at Texas Roadhouse locations in Springfield and Forsyth. It will run from 3 to 10 p.m. in Springfield (2540 W. Iles Ave.) and from 4 to 10 p.m. in Forsyth (1155 S. Route 51).
