Infants' Ibuprofen sold at Walmart, CVS recalled

(WAND) - Infants' Ibuprofen sold at Walmart and CVS is being recalled over dosage concerns.

Tris Pharma, Inc. has voluntarily recalled three lots of Infants' Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, USP (NSAID) 50 mg per 1.25 mL.

The recall was issued, because the product was found to have higher concentrations of ibuprofen. There is a risk that infants may be more vulnerable to permanent NSAID-associated kidney injury, because they are more susceptible to a higher potency level.

Side effects are nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain. Rarely, diarrhea is a symptom.

Tinnitus, headache and gastrointestinal bleeding are also possible.

There have not been any reports of babies getting sick from the medicine so far.

The medicines were sold at Walmart stores and CVS.
