Chief Meteorologist Lee Davis has been with WAND StormCenter 17 since 1994 as both Meteorologist and reporter. Originally from Rockford, he's been in Central Illinois since 1973, and he received his bachelor's degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University, and certificate in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Lee has earned the television seals of approval from both the American Meteorological Society, and the National Weather Association, and the Illinois Broadcasters Association voted him Best Weathercaster 2009.

Lee has served as a Trustee on the Foundation of Excellence at Lutheran High School, and as a volunteer for March of Dimes. Lee has been a Boy Scout leader and has served on volunteer boards for Easter Seals, and the Arthritis Foundation. He's a licensed private pilot, and ham radio operator. He also serves on the Macon County Emergency Management Agency as well as the Capital Area Amateur Radio Emergency Response Team, and is a 1st Lieutenant and Public Affairs Officer for Group 9 of the Illinois Wing of Civil Air Patrol, and also is qualified as a member of search and rescue Mission Flight Crew. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.

Lee and his wife have an adult daughter, a married son, and two Dachshunds, Sophie and Oscar.
