STATEMENT TO VOTERS:
Let's look at the facts:
Unemployment in Macon County is at 8.3%. That's 2% above the national, and 1% above the state average.
Property taxes in Decatur have jumped by 14.7% over the past four years.
In Decatur, 1 in 35 houses is burglarized every year.
I see these (and many other) deep challenges in our community that must be addressed. We need to find a source of pride and progress in Decatur, and the way we will do that is through a new beginning, through fresh leadership on the Decatur City Council.
