Decatur woman convicted in Peoria on tax evasion, fraud charges
A Decatur woman was convicted in Peoria Federal Court Monday on tax evasion and mail fraud charges.
IRS Criminal Investigation says 38-year-old Jennifer Campbell pleaded guilty to taking more than 800,000 dollars from the Dowd Development Company her former employer. Prosecutors say she wrote company checks payable to herself and changed records to conceal her theft from 1999 through 2006.
She is out of jail on 10,000 dollars bond. Her sentencing hearing is set for May 22.
