Schools throughout Illinois hope to set world record
On Lincoln's 200th birthday, Thursday, February 12, all students at all schools in Illinois are encouraged to read the Gettysburg Address out loud.
The goal is for everyone to start reading it at 9:30 a.m. to help set a new Guinness world record.
Lincoln's birthday is officially a school holiday, but schools can be in session. More than 93-percent of Illinois schools have petitioned the State Board of Education to hold classes on February 12th.
