Mutual aid called in for morning fire near Humboldt


It took almost five hours to put out a fire near Humboldt Monday morning.

The fire was so bad that Humboldt fire had to call in mutual aid from Cooks Mill. The fire started about 4:30 a.m. about five miles west of Humboldt in the skyline springs subdivision. 

Firefighters say no one was home at the time. The home is a total loss and they believe the cause to be electrical.

A neighbor that lives about three houses down is a retired fire investigator for the county and serves on the Humboldt volunteer fire department.
