Springfield City Council to discuss budget issues at special meeting
A special meeting will be held Tuesday night as Springfield City Council members try to deal with the city's $12.5-million deficit.
So far aldermen have not come up with any new solutions to get out of the red. Springfield Mayor Tim Davlin has given aldermen some options like a program selling electricity made by the city's new power plan and increasing the telecom tax by four percent.
Aldermen say they will not vote on the budget issues but only discuss them at tonight's meeting.
