REX representatives to give presentation on pipeline progress
On Tuesday, central Illinois will get a look at the progress on a natural gas pipeline being built in several area counties.
Construction work on the Rockies express pipeline began last summer. It will run through Morgan, Sangamon, Christian, Macon, Moultrie, Douglas and Edgar counties. It's expected to be up and running sometime this year.
The REX pipeline will bring close to two billion cubic feet of natural gas from Colorado to Ohio making it one of the largest projects of its kind in the last 25 years.
Representatives with the pipeline will give a presentation explaining the current status of the project on Tuesday. The presentation will be held at Taylorville Memorial Hospital at noon.
