The public works department had to drop five supervisors after already cutting $1-million of its funds.

The Springfield libraries will close on Sundays and the branches will be closed another day during the week.

A four percent telecommunications tax increase and a program where city, water, light and power will sell extra electricity made by its new power plant were also passed.

The Springfield City Council also passed a measure to provide almost $280,000 for a permanent foundation for the Misenbacher Home.
