Black supporters ask Roland Burris to step down


A group of black ministers in Chicago who had been supporters of Roland Burris are now calling for him to resign, amid allegations he lied to a special house investigative committee.

Republican members of that panel have now introduced legislation that would put Burris' seat and any future U.S. senate vacancy in Illinois up before a special elections.

Supporters of the measure want to hold that special election to coincide with municipal elections April 9th with, a special general election to be held May 2nd.
