The city of Decatur is reminding residents that signs should not be placed in the public right of way, like public boulevards, sidewalks and medians.
Signs placed in the public right-of-way will be removed by city workers and taken to the municipal services center where they can be picked up.
The city says when workers have to go out and remove signs, it takes them away from other work like neighborhood cleanups, street and pothole repairs.
