Bloomington triple homicide suspect captured

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WAND) - A Bloomington man wanted for a triple homicide has been captured in Wisconsin.

25-year-old Sydney Mays, Jr. was arrested by officers who were conducting a drug investigation in the 2600 block of 48th St. in Milwaukee.

Several other people were also arrested on drug charges.

Mays had outstanding warrants in McLean County for six counts of first degree murder, two counts of attempted first degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and aggravated battery.

The charges stem from shootings on June 18 in the 300 block of Riley Dr. 22-year-old Nate Pena, 22-year-old Corey Jackson, and 33-year-old Juan Perez were all killed. A 4-year-old little boy was wounded in the shootings.

A team of Bloomington Police detectives and people from the McLean County State's Attorney's Office traveled to Milwaukee to continue the investigation.
