DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A man died after being shot at a bar in Danville early Saturday morning, according to the Danville Police Department.
Police said they were called to Scooter's Bar, 1114 E. Voorhees Street, around 1:30 a.m.
Police said the first arriving officers found a 30-year-old man who had been shot. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the bar. His name has not been released.
Trevon Lake, 30, Danville, showed up at an emergency room not long after the shooting, according to police. They said Lake had a non-life threatening injury and was later arrested on initial charges of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Late Saturday morning, police said The Vermilion County States Attorney charged Lake with first-degree murder in addition to the unlawful weapons charge.
Police have not said if Lake knew the victim. It's not known what led to the shooting.
The shooting is under investigation. Danville police asked if anyone knows anything about the shooting to call the Danville Police Department or the Vermilion County Crimestoppers at (217) 466-TIPS.
