CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A Champaign man who was wanted in connection with a shooting in July has been arrested.

The shooting on July 22 left a man seriously injured.

Lavante Neal, 21, was arrested by U.S. marshals about Wednesday at a home in the 600 block of Alabama Ave. in Champaign. 

He is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.

He is accused of shooting a 35-year-old man in the 1000 block of North James St.

If convicted, Neal faces between six and 30 years in prison.
