DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Police say a Walmart worker stole money from cash registers multiple times over a period of weeks.
A sworn statement from officers says 58-year-old Julie Nash could be seen on cameras taking money from the register she worked at and hiding it in places on the counter. They say she would later pocket the cash.
Police say the thefts happened 15 times starting on July 16 and ending on Aug. 4, with a total of $1,140 taken. They say Nash would take $100 in the majority of the thefts.
The Walmart in question is located at 4224 N. Prospect Drive in Decatur.
The statement says Walmart workers found out about the thefts during audits of cash registers.
Nash is facing a charge of theft over $500. Her bond is set at $10,000 in Macon County.
