Stalking charge filed against Danville man

RANTOUL, Ill. (WAND) – A man forced a woman into his car and drove away in Rantoul, police say.

A press release says witnesses at Circle K (1295 E. Grove Ave.) watched 36-year-old Ronald K. Poke dragging the woman into a car against her will after 10 p.m. Thursday. Law enforcement learned the car was heading to Danville and stopped it. 

Officers say the woman, who they interviewed, knew Poke. She refused medical attention for minor injuries.

Poke is facing charges of aggravated stalking, unlawful restraint and domestic battery. He is behind bars in the Champaign County Correctional Center.
