Student stabbed near high school

Springfield - A student was taken to the hospital, after a stabbing near Springfield High School.


Springfield police say, it happened around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, near the intersection of State and Governor Streets.  Police arrested Tre Tucker, 18, for aggravated battery. Police say Tucker and a 21-year-old were involved in an argument. Tucker allegedly stabbed the victim in the stomach.



Springfield High School leaders told WAND that the school was put on a soft lock down during the investigation.  The 21-year-old was treated at Memorial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
