SHERMAN, Ill. (WAND) – Police have made an arrest in a multi-city counterfeiting scheme.
Sherman police say they found counterfeit currency being used in the city between Feb. 3 and 4 at several business.
Officials spoke with the Chatham Police Department and Lincoln Police Department after they developed information about another person of interest in the investigation.
All three communities experienced similar incidents where counterfeit money was used at several businesses in the community.
Police issued and arrest warrant for 18-year-old Shance Dalton of Springfield. He was arrested for forgery and several other violations by the Springfield Police Department during a traffic stop on Sunday night.
A second suspect, John Steward, 22, was arrested last week.
