Federal prosecutors have charged a Missouri man with allegedly sharing bomb-making videos on social media. These videos were reportedly used by the man who killed 14 people in New Orleans on New Year’s Day 2025. Shamsud-Din Jabbar allegedly downloaded the tutorials and placed explosives consistent with the videos near his attack site, though they didn’t detonate. He was killed by police after firing at officers. Prosecutors say the videos were also linked to a May explosion in Odessa, Missouri. The man charged with making the instructional videos faces charges of distributing explosive-making information and possessing explosives without a license. Potential sentences total 40 years.
