Sarah Michaels joined the Agribusiness Team March 2017. Sarah brings years of experience with her, specifically outreach to consumers and AG groups. Sarah is also a freelance agriculture communicator and provides AG commentary to radio stations throughout the region. She was a field reporter for “This Week In AgriBusiness," which is broadcast to more than 99 local television stations throughout the country. She is based in the Western half of our viewing area which extends to Jacksonville, IL.

Sarah has worked for other Midwest communication companies in its digital media division, and later launched an AG website focused on the Midwest: MidwestAGnet.com. She also worked for Raycom Media, Inc. in their digital media division, specifically focusing on agriculture.

Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where she majored in agronomy and specialized in weed science. After graduation she moved to St. Louis, Mo. and started her master’s degree in biology education. She completed her Masters of Education degree in agriculture education at the University of Missouri in Columbia. She recently started her animal science endorsement through Iowa State University specializing in Swine Science.

Sarah taught botany, entomology and multiple horticulture and grounds maintenance classes at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and general K-12 classes in Austin, Texas.
