Ashton Summers and Mt. Zion football are getting meaningful reps this summer

Junior quarterback Ashton Summers looks to receive the snap at 7 on 7 scrimmages held at Mt. Zion High School.

MT. ZION, Ill. (WAND) -- One of the most valuable things in sports is the ability to gain game experience.

Ashton Summers started as a sophomore quarterback last season for the Braves and now has a year under his belt.

He looks to be the starter this coming season.

Mt. Zion head coach Patrick Etherton hopes Summers can take a big step forward this season.
