Hero of the Week: Shannon Roberts, MacArthur

DECATUR -- It only takes about five minutes of watching a MacArthur General football practice and you're hooked.

The player wearing practice jersey No. 5 won't stop talking to his teammates -- whether helping get them going at the beginning, picking them up after a mistake or keeping things loose. He instantly becomes your favorite player.

Shannon Roberts may face developmental disabilities that his teammates don't have to deal with, but it doesn't stop him from contributing to the General football team. It also hasn't stopped him from setting a goal of going to college next fall (Millikin University, he hopes).
