WLB wins

West Lincoln-Broadwell celebrates its 46-10 win over previously unbeaten Ottawa Wallace in the 8th grade 1A IESA championship game.

Make it five state championships in three years for the West Lincoln-Broadwell girls basketball program.

Head coach Kari Froebe's Wolverines won their latest trophy in dominant fashion on Thursday night, holding unbeaten Ottawa Wallace to an eye-popping 10 points in a 46-10 win in the Class 1A 8th grade IESA state championship at Clinton Junior High.

Star guard Kloe Froebe (who's only in seventh grade) contributed 30 of the Wolverines' 46 points and broke the all-time tournament scoring record (previously 73 points). In fact, the Wolverines only have one eighth grader on the roster which makes their dominance all the more impressive.

The championship came on the heels of last year's undefeated state title, as well as three straight 7th grade 1A titles for a total of five under Coach Froebe.
