DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - The Danville Fire Department said one person had died in a house fire. 

According to the department, at 11:52 p.m. on Friday, firefighters were called to a house fire with a person still inside. When they arrived, crews found heavy fire coming from the front and west sides of the home. 

Someone nearby told firefighters that a person was still inside. 

Crews began to extinguish the flames and quickly brought it under control. Danville Fire said additional firefighters entered the home and found the victim. 

The Vermilion County Coroner's office was notified. The victim's name has not been released. 

The Illinois State Fire Marshals office is assisting the Danville Fire Department with determining the cause of the fire, which remains undetermined at this time. There were no working smoke alarms inside the home.
