Firefighters respond to fire

CHATHAM, Ill. (WAND) - A barn was destroyed by fire in Chatham Saturday. 

The Chatham Fire Department was called out for a fire in the 5200 block of Spaulding Orchard Rd. at 10:36. 

A 30x40 metal barn was fully engulfed in flames. 

Chatham Fire was assisted by Auburn, Loami, and New Berlin Fire. 

Crews were on scene for about four hours. 

Due to hydrants not being in the area, water had to be shuttled in with tankers. 

The barn is considered a total loss. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
