DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) -A dead body was retrieved from a pond in Danville, Friday morning.Â
According to the Vermilion County Sheriff's Department, officers responded to a call of a deceased person in a pond west of Danville at approximately 10:20 a.m.
Divers from the sheriff's department underwater search and recovery unit recovered the deceased from the pond.
Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden has identified the deceased as 33 year old Wes Kelley of rural Danville, who was reported missing on May 13, 2024.
An autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death.
The case remains under investigation by the Vermilion County Sheriff's Department and the Vermilion County Coroner's Office.
