Man faces attempted murder charge over cookies

DECATUR - A Decatur man is accused of trying to kill his female roommate after she allegedly ate three cookies that he may have wanted.

Allen Hall, 23, is charged with attempted murder and aggravated domestic battery.

Decatur police say that Hall allegedly threatened to kill the 49-year-old roommate on Wednesday after he learned that she ate 3 "Chips Ahoy" cookies for breakfast.

The roommate told police that she thought Hall was joking at first, but then attempted to strangle her in a bathtub.  Decatur police say that the woman's husband and landlord separated the two.

Hall remains jailed, and his bond is set at $75,000.
