SIU School of Medicine to host cancer symposium

SPRINGFIELD - Southern Illinois University School of Medicine will host its 14th annual Simmons Cancer Institute Symposium on September 3.

Officials say this event will be held in the 200 block West Miller Street in Springfield, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  The symposium is being sponsored by Simmons Cancer Institute and Memorial Medical Center, and is focused on benefiting local physicians and health care professionals.

Featured speakers during this event include Memorial Medical Center's Kelly Armstrong, PhD, Simmons Cancer Institute's Aziz Khan, MD, and SIU assistant professor Rexanne Lagare Caga-anan, MD.  For more information about the Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU, visit http://www.siumed.edu/cancer/.
