SPRINGFIELD – The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Center for Family Medicine will be holding a Family Fun & Health Fair on Wednesday, August 12.

This event will be held in the parking lot at the corner of Fourth and Carpenter Streets, located at 520 North 4th Street in Springfield. Attendees will be able win door prizes, get health screenings and partake in free water and food.

Various booths will be set up to give participants information about voter registration, exercise, nutrition and diseases and conditions.

This health fair coincides with National Community Health Center Week, as this is also the third year the center has been registered as a Federally Qualified Health Center. Community health centers have been present in the United States since more than 45 years ago, and they serve 22 million people nationwide.

The fair will begin 3 PM and run until 5 PM.
